Chartered in 1995, The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Delaware Chapter is a non-profit organization that recognizes the evolving demands upon African-American Women and serves as an advocacy organization committed to linking women throughout the State to form a significant, collective voice speaking out on issues that directly (and indirectly) impact the African-American woman, her family, and her community -- at all levels. We are a local affiliate of a national organization with over 7,000 members across this country. Our national office is currently located in New York City.

Our objective is to empower the woman of color to achieve her full potential in focus areas of education, economic development, health, and issue advocacy. We pool our efforts to grow beyond where we are. We provide opportunities for our members to use their core competencies by serving on boards and commissions that link us to the community and also by acting as mentors to young girls and other women. Through partnership and other networks we are able to provide educational forums to the community in areas of political skills building for women, advocacy initiatives, skill/business development, education and health. We also serve as a financial support base for young women who desire to pursue a college education but do not have the financial wherewithal to support their dream.

To date our Dr. Teresa Drummond Scholarship has awarded approximately $75,000 to area students. Scholarship dollars to be awarded in 2007 at our annual signature event "Cooking For A Cause" at the Chase Center on April 14, 2007 is $10,000.00.
